Our parent company, Prestige Roofing and Exteriors, has proudly served homeowners since 2007, delivering exceptional roofing systems throughout Utah. Metal Roofscapes of Utah represents the next evolution of that experience: a specialized division focused on designer roofing and premium materials.

At the center of that experience is founder Tyler Ely, a lifelong roofing craftsman whose passion for the trade began long before he ever ran his own company.

Tyler grew up learning the roofing business from his father, who owned and operated a roofing company in Portland, Oregon for more than 35 years. During much of that time, Tyler’s father was one of the largest installers of cedar shake and tile roofing in the Pacific Northwest, known for producing high-quality work on homes that demanded precision and craftsmanship.

From an early age, Tyler was immersed in the details of the trade. Not just the labor of roofing, but the craft behind it. Working alongside his father gave him a deep understanding of the materials, the techniques, and the discipline required to install roofing systems correctly.

Over the past two decades in Utah, Tyler has continued to expand that foundation as Prestige Roofing and Exteriors through thousands of projects, large and small. His experience spans the full spectrum of roofing systems, from architectural shingles to high-end metal systems, copper, zinc, cedar shake, slate, and other specialty materials that require advanced installation techniques.

Tyler is known for being what he jokingly calls a “roofing nerd.” He genuinely enjoys getting into the technical side of the work, studying details, solving issues in complex roof designs, and ensuring every system is installed in a way that will perform beautifully for decades.

That passion has made him a valuable collaborator for builders, architects, and designers working on custom homes with detailed or complex rooflines. Tyler frequently works directly with project teams to help design roofing systems that solve difficult architectural challenges while maintaining a clean and aesthetically refined finished product. His goal is always the same: create a roof that not only looks exceptional, but one that he can confidently stand behind.
